We are an Italian company specialised in the production of thermoformed and injection-moulded plastic packaging for the food industry, with more than 45 years of experience on the market. Over time we have built up extensive scientific, technical and management knowhow and introduced highly automated processes.

We produce packaging for some of the key players in Food & Beverages, starting from the definition of technical characteristics through to production. We support our customers at every stage in the project, keeping in constant contact with their R&D teams in order to ensure the highest quality standards and meet their specific requirements.

1976
Foundation of the company

Start-up of production of thermoformed rigid plastic packaging. MPG Manifattura Plastica becomes the first Italian company to market thermoformed polypropylene containers, and strengthens its positioning through on-going investment in research and technology

Extrusion

The new extrusion shop goes into operation

1996
Injection moulding

Production begins of the first injection-moulded polypropylene packaging with IML labels

2009
Packaging Oscar

“Quality Design” 2009. Awarded to the “flavour-saver stopper”, a project developed in collaboration with Plada Industriale for the Plasmon brand

Packaging Oscar

“Quality Design” 2012. Awarded to the “snap-on cover for homogenised foods”, a project developed in collaboration with Heinz Italia

MPG Manifattura Plastica joins the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (Sedex), a non-profit organisation set up to improve supply chain ethics and responsibility This signifies compliance with international standards, national laws and the Sedex Code of Ethics (ETI Code)

MPG Manifattura Plastica issues a minibond listed on Borsa Italiana

Cribis Prime Company

Between 2017 and 2021, the Cribis company, a Dun&Bradstreet subsidiary, names MPG Manifattura Plastica a “Cribis Prime Company” for outstanding reliability in terms of solidity, solvency and on-time payment

2020
ISCC certification

MPG Manifattura Plastica becomes the first Italian company to obtain “Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC Plus)” for its use of polypropylene coupled with renewable materials and a low environmental impact

The European Commission has decided to support MPG’s Claymbar Project, by including it as a project eligible for support from the Horizon 2020 Sme-Instrument program set up by Brussels to assist R&D activities in small-medium enterprises in Europe.
